In Georgia a traffic ticket is a criminal charge; it is a misdemeanor. With it being a misdemeanor, for the most part, the same penalties can apply, maximum fine is $1,000 and a year in jail. Now, you probably won't get anything near those penalties unless you really try; making demands, being disrespectful, being rude to everyone in court, insulting the judge and so forth.

Criminal
